Mr. Dayan Ayivi, affectionately known as General, is a man driven by the conviction that “no one is poor — only in need.” This belief fuels his passion for creating opportunities that uplift individuals and transform communities. Known for his kindness and cheerful spirit of giving, Mr. Dayan has dedicated himself to extending hope where it is needed most. Inspired by his boss, H.E. John Mahama, and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama — whose consistent generosity toward orphanages left a lasting mark on him — Dayan began visiting and supporting orphanages two to three times a year since 2019. Though his acts of giving were mostly quiet and personal, they carried profound impact. Founding Damela Foundation marks his decision to make this mission official, expanding his reach and garnering public support to do more on a larger scale. His heart is especially drawn to rural and neglected areas, where needs are often overlooked, and where hope can mean the difference between despair and a future. Beyond his humanitarian work, Mr. Dayan is a devoted husband and father of two, whose personal life reflects the same values of love, care, and compassion that guide his vision for Damela Foundation.
